A Favorite Place to Shop in the Country

This is a quaint store found only about a half mile east from where I live. It is a "Primitive" shop where you can find alot of neat things. They even sell "Primitive" type furniture on the main level. This place is called "Johnathan's Country Patch." When you first drive up to the place, they have neat things outside to sell and when you open the door, you can go and look at some really nice furniture or go up the long flight of steps to where all the "goodies" are. They sell lots of different candles, even "Yankee" candles. They sell gourmet food-like items. But the main items for sale are "primitive." I just feel so lucky that they are just located up the road from me. In fact, I have to make a visit there again before I head down for my visit in the States in mid-October. They are located on Highway 2, Newtonville/Newcastle, Ontario.

Happy Birthday Louie!!

Today is my pug, Louie's, birthday!! He is 3 years old and he was born in a small area called Hallsville, Ontario..which is south of Ottawa. I can't believe we have had him for 3 years now. He brings us alot of joy and keeps us on our toes all the time. His biological mom and dad are both Canadian Champs and is registered in the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club). His dad, Bosco, is over in Hawaii now for at least 3 years and his mom, Crunch, lives near Ottawa. And his breeder, Sandi...lives in Tillsonburg, Ontario now. But he really has brought alot of happiness to our family. His big brother, Jake, loves to play with him. And Jake is our 6 year old furry son..and he is a rottie. One thing with Louie...he loves to eat!! But pugs are suppose to watch their weight.

Anyhow, we want to wish him a Big Happy 3rd Birthday today!!! Happy Birthday "Kingstar's Louie!"

Favorite Place to Dine

A great place to eat up here in Ontario, Canada is "Montana's Cookhouse and Saloon." They offer great tasting Ribs and on Wednesday you can eat all you want! They also offer a wide variety of other tasty foods too...they have great herb roasted chicken or you can add any of their bold flavored bbq sauces to it, as well as the Ribs. They make a really great pot roast too and some "sizzling" fajitas!! As for desserts, scrumptious and delicious!

This place is a "favorite" for my sisters when they come up to visit. My parents love the place as well. A few years back, while waiting for our meal...my hubby was pretty thirsty. And as I was heading to the watering hole, I heard the waiter from our table tell another waitress.. "That sure is one "thirsty" cowboy we have here!" Oh I laughed to myself when I overheard that and told the family about it once I got back. But this place is a great place to take your family to.

So if you are ever in Ontario, Canada...you should try this place out. There are a "chain" of them.

" White Feather" is a popular spot in our region, found in a small community just north of Oshawa..called Raglan. Every year my sisters have to travel to this quaint spot and do some serious shopping. It's a country market with food, etc and also has a nice size gift shop as well. That is where my sisters love to do their serious shopping. As you can tell by the sign above ..that they sell "cowboy steaks and burgers." I haven't tried them myself but have heard they are delicious. They have a wide variety of homebaked goods too. If you are ever up in this here part of Ontario, Canada...you must stop here at "White Feather."
